Q & A

Q: What version of Flash do I need to use the Spore 2D CC?
A: You should get a copy of Adobe Flash 10 here.

Q: How can I open up a creature that a friend sent me in a postcard?
A: After you click on the link in the email from your friend and open the webpage, right click (PC) or Control-Click (Mac) on the postcard and save the .png to a convenient location, like your desktop. Then go to the Spore 2D application and click on the "Load Creature" button, navigate to the saved .png and voila!

Q: Why can't I load creatures made with Creepy & Cute or the Exoskeleton parts? Why do some creatures have locks on them?
A: This version of Spore 2D only includes parts from the original Spore game and the original Creature Creator. We may add the other parts at a later date, but we have no estimates on when that might be.

Q: Can I drag and drop a .png from Spore onto the Spore Creature Creator to open it?
A: You can't load .png's from Spore directly into Spore2D. You can load creatures that you have up on the Spore server by entering your user name in the Spore2D Sporepedia.

Q: How can I save my creation?
A: Click the 'Save Creature' button, and make sure to save the image with the .png extension. To load the creature again, click 'Load Creature' and find the PNG you saved.

Q: Why does the application slow down sometimes?
A: If you have a creature with a lot of parts, the Spore 2D Creature Creator may suffer perfomance problems. Try removing some parts
